It is definitely a great buy for the price (I paid only $25.00). It has a setting for "cook" which automatically turns off to the default, "warm" when the rice is cooked fully. It does a great job cooking rice which does not stick to the all aluminum textured pan (I did not want teflon/PfoA in my food). The rice slightly browns and crusts on the bottom of the pan, just the way it does when you cook it on the stove for the full time until all water has been absorbed--in other words, just the way rice does anyway in those conditions. I discovered that if I did not want this slight crusting and slight browning, I could turn the cook feature off to "warm" within 10 min of boiling (it never boils over with unwashed rice, even when I am cooking 5 cups of dry rice) and wait 10 min to fully absorb the water before eating...Read more |
