I wanted a very nice rice cooker. I looked at the Zojirushi rice cookers, but they had some sort of plastic coating on the bowl... thats not good, as when plastics are heated they release estrogen and toxins, and I wanted nothing of that. This one has a thicker bowl, and its lined with titanium, which does not release toxins. This is amazing. It keeps the rice perfect all day... calculates things to the T, it makes rice making incredibly easy and perfect every time. I've never had such good rice as I do with this thing! Many of the peices come apart easily for easy cleaning, there is a timer, so you can have your rice ready for you when you get home from work, for example, and it keeps the rice tasty and ready for like 12 or 24 hours, I forget which, its a long time haha. My rice never lasts long enough to test that though, I eat it all :x

I thought that $120 was alot, but I have changed my mind. I use this all the time, its amazing, and worth every penny. I...Read more

This rice cooker is an excellent product. It is very well made and foolproof to use. I use it to make brown rice a few times a week and it makes perfect rice every time. Rinse the rice, add the rice, add water, and press start. It's as simple as that. A breeze to clean, too. Wish I had purchased one of these years ago.

5.0 out of 5 stars great small rice cooker, September 8, 2007
I have used this rice cooker every day, sometimes twice a day, for the past year. I make oatmeal and a number of styles of rice. It's easy to use, easy to clean. It definitely has that "made for the Japanese household" look to it (I bought it at a Japanese supermarket). I'm sure there are fancier rice cookers but this one does the job and it wasn't too expensive. Mind you, it's the first rice cooker I've ever owned so someone who grew up with them might think "what a cheap piece of junk!" but I doubt it. I'm usually surprised (and occasionally shocked) when something performs they way it is advertised. This thing does what the box said it would do.
