Panasonic SR-MS102 Fuzzy-Logic 5-Cup Rice Cooker, White

This rice cooker is fantastic. I bought and kept this (and returned the others) after trying this along with two other rice cookers - Zojirushi NP-HBC10 and Sanyo ECJ-HC55S. Please note that I had selected even the other two after much research and they, in their own place, are amongst the best rice cookers that you can buy.

This one cooks rice as well as or better than the others and much faster. I use this mainly to cook brown rice - the Sanyo took about 90 minutes for two cups of brown rice, the Zojirushi took about (or more than) 100 minutes and this one takes just 60 - 65 minutes.

This one has more functions than any other cooker (Rice cooker, steamer, slow cooker, warmer, porridge maker, cake maker, sushi and more).

I've had this Panasonic Fuzzy Logic Rice cooker for a couple of weeks now, and I'm using it every day. I had a 10-Cup which didn't do well making less than 2 cups of rice (4 cups cooked)--way too much for just 2 people in my household. This 5-cup Panasonic is perfect for cooking amounts down to 1/2 cup (1 cup cooked). I've used it for white, brown, sticky & jasmine rice and Steel Cut Oats and it is perfect every time. The Timer function allows me to set up my breakfast Oats the night before, to be ready at 5:10 am--when I'm ready to eat them. A wonderful convenience. The Keep Warm function keeps the rice hot without sticking or burning it. The steamer function works great too. Haven't tried the cake function.

The User's Manual is written in several languages, each instruction repeated in each language one-after-the-other. Not easy to read, but workable.

The 5-cup Panasonic Fuzzy Logic Rice Cooker is the best purchase I've made in a long time!

Date of purchase: Jan 2011. I decided to purchase this product after our move when we left our old Cook/keep warm Aroma rice cooker behind (it was sooooo outdated!) I have done a LOT of research on the various brands and was down to the fight between the Zojirushi lower-end models, Sanyo, and this Panasonic Model. Chose this Panasonic model because apparently Zojirushi (models that are made in China) have many negative reviews in that they break after only short time of use; bought Sanyo 5-cup fuzzy logic and it has weird electronics with lots of room for improvement, so it went back. And then I decided to try out this Panasonic model, and I am very glad I did ! It is a multi-functional little machine. Although it is only 5.5 cup capacity, it cooks a lot of food.
