I have owned a set of Norpro Krona pots and pans for over seven years, getting heavy use each day. When I saw that there was now a 4-piece Steamer/Cooker Set, I immediately ordered one. The arrangement of steamer basket suspended by its rim over a pasta colander makes it ideal for steaming vegetables while simultaneously boiling pasta. The vegetables can be lifted out of the pot at any time by the folding wire handles on the steamer basket, allowing you to control their tenderness.I am unhappy with the new glass-and-steel lids that Norpro has begun using because they are not seamless nor as well-made as the older, solid-steel lids. Other than that, the Steamer/Cooker Set has performed exactly as expected and as always, with an entirely stainless steel construction, has been easy to clean either by hand or in the dishwasher. And yes, the triple-layer construction on the bottom of the pan diffuses the heat from my gas burners very effectively.

This steamer is wonderful. It has plenty of room, so I am able to steam several foods / vegeatables at the same time. Have used it almost daily since it arrived and it is easy to clean. I really like having a glass lid to see how the more delicate food or vegetable is doing.

I love this pot. It is nearly perfect, and extremely useful! The one problem with the design is that the pasta insert does not go deep enough. The main pot is very deep, and the pasta insert seems to go less than half the way down. Because of this, to boil pasta in it you have to fill the water literally to the brim of the pot to have enough water to cover the pasta. This would not be an issue except this large pot takes FOREVER to boil that much water, which can be annoying. Wish the pasta insert were deeper, also you could cook more pasta at once if it were. Aside from that flaw, I love the pot. Very pleased with the quality.
