This review is from: Joyce Chen 3-Tier Steamer It will be useful in my kitchen. No doubt! However, I am attracting your attention to the fact that it is a two-layer steamer (as it is visible on the picture actually). 3-tier thing always confuses me (not a native speaker) into thinking that I can use all three layers. But in this case the third layer is the bottom that you fill with water. Simple as that. 15 of 15 people found the following review helpful: By Nancy "the Number Girl" (Oklahoma City, OK) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Joyce Chen 3-Tier Steamer I'm so glad I bought this steamer! It's a smidge less romantic than a bamboo tower, but as Alton Brown suggested, a stainless steel one would be longer-lasting, have less original bamboo flavor, and would not soak up flavors from the foods like bamboo steamers; so, after a lot of research and searching, I chose this one. At very first I wasn't sure I liked it because the stainless levels seemed flimsy to me, but that's just because they are very light (which quickly I very much appreciated because it makes the whole unit not too heavy!) -- and I found this steamer to be of high-quality material, design, and construction. I'm EXTREMELY happy with this purchase... it has plenty of room (depth and width -- I bought the big one) for even corn-on-the-cob, and I can easily steam several different veggies at the same time, without mixing them or having to pile them up. I'M LOVIN' IT!

This review is from: Joyce Chen 3-Tier Steamer I absolutely love this steamer and also love it as a pot. It's nice and lightweight and yet very sturdy. It's very good quality. I've used it to cook pasta and to steam asparagus. The asparagus took a little longer than my old steamer but kept them looking a bright green. I liked that I could see them through the glass cover so they didn't get overdone. I am very, very happy with this purchase and would highly recommend it! |
