This review is from: Imusa Steamer Pot, Aluminum, 20-Quart (Kitchen)
I'm very pleased with this large stock pot. I borrowed an aluminum 20 qt stock pot last fall to do some canning. I enjoyed canning so much that I decided I wanted a stock pot of my own. Most of my cookwear is All-Clad or Calphalon. But a 20 qt stock pot in either brand is very expensive and the pot, itself, quite heavy. This Imusa aluminum pot suits my needs perfectly and is reasonably priced. It's sturdy enough and very light. So far, I've used it to cook turkey stock (post-Thanksgiving) and I've used it for canning. I intend to use it for cooking lobster. The steamer tray fits perfectly into the pot (which has a ridge on the inside for holding it in place). The steamer tray worked well for canning, too, keeping the jars off the bottom of the pot. Just remember that, unlike an All-Clad or other high end version of a large stock pot, this is aluminum inside and out. So nothing acidic (you probably already know that) in the Imusa. The Imusa Steamer Pot, 20 Quart is a well known Brand in Latin American Countries, it was given to me as a Gift last year. It is made out of Heavy Gauge Aluminum and is very Light anybody can lift it...and is BIG! It comes with the Steamer Insert and holds a lot of Tamales. I make the Traditional Tamales with either Pork or Chicken, preferably the second one and I like to use California Chiles they are Mild making a Vibrant Red Sauce, I get the "Masa" from a Local Mexican Market, it Saved time and it turned out Great! I cook them in batches and make Hundreds during the Holidays giving some of them away
Even though this Steamer doesn't have a flimsy Lid, I always like to put a brick wrapped in Aluminum Foil on Top of it to keep the Steam in. The Imusa Steamer does a Great Job I never ran out of water and I steam my Tamales for over 2 Hours, with no problems. It measures exactly, 12 inches wide by 10 inches high, the space between the bottom of the Pot and the Steamer Insert...Read more

I have used this pot once for tamales. I had 5 dozen in the pot and was only about 3/4 of the way packed. I look forward to using this pot again in a couple of more weeks.
