Calypso Basics 6-Piece Microwave Steamer Set, White

I had taken a set of microwave pots to my sister's after her surgery. We missed them so much we decided to replace them ASAP. I bought three of these, because of a four for three deal and having another item I needed to order. These are great! The tops fit perfectly, they can be stacked in the refrigerator and do fine in the dishwasher. I froze some things that I have not used yet, but feel confident that they work exactly as stated. I suggest on buying at least two sets, these are something everyone needs!

This is a set of three nesting microwave + freezer + dishwasher safe bowls, each with a lid with a (very) small vent hole on the top which you can open or close. I'm not talking about opening it a little (to let a bit of steam escape) or a lot (to let more escape). It is a tiny hole and it is either opened or closed. That's all you get.

The largest of the three bowls is big enough to contain a few small dumplings, veggies or some other side dish for dinner for *one* but that's the big one! I'm looking at the smaller two on my desk as I write this and wondering what on earth I might use them for.

To me, a steamer has one or more vertically stackable trays where the food to be steamed goes, and that tray (or stack of trays) sits over a base tray of water that provides the steam when it is heated. I purchased this product to replace a microwave steamer set that I have used for many years. This Calypso set is even better than the one I used for so long. I recommend it.
