Summary: Very Good Rice Cooker 2010-09-03
Comment: I have owned this rice cooker for about 6 months. The Aroma rice cooker makes perfect rice every time I use it. In addition to it providing great rice every time, the directions that come with the cooker are clear and effective. Although, I have only made 1 and 3 cups of rice at a time, but every time it is excellent. I had always wondered how the rice at Italian, Chinese, Thai, Korean, Japanese and Indian restaurants turned out so good; well, now I know. Any type of rice I toss in it, turns out just like it does at the different ethnic restaurants mentioned above. I have made plain white, brown, and wild rice(black and red grains). I have made rice pilaf, sweet rice(extremely glutenous desert rice), Arborio rice(Italian short to medium grain for risotto), Sushi/Sticky rice(Japanese short grain glutenous rice), Basmati rice(Indian), Cal-rose rice, Botan rice(Korean rice) and Jasmine rice(Thai). All have turned out just like they should without any difficulty.
I have even made Quinoa (alternative to rice from South America), Couscous(Semolina Wheat that are like small spaghetti pellets), and Bulgur(Bulgur Wheat used in Middle Eastern cuisine) in the rice cooker. All three turned out great, but the bulgur was more difficult to make, so it took me a few tries.
I am not affiliated with, do not work for, or own stock in any company that makes the Aroma Professional Rice cooker. I am just an average guy that appreciates it when a company makes a products works well, saves time, and avoids problems by being a trouble free, set and forget unit. Really great product so far.

Summary: Unsatisfactory 2010-06-06
Comment: I've had a rice steamer for many years -- probably more than 15 -- and was happy with it but wanted something that would make the rice without sending up so much steam onto the cupboards. While the Aroma rice cooker was very quiet and let out very little steam, for just two people, this rice cooker was a poor investment. It cooked a large pot of rice beautifully, but scortched the 2-cup amount I normally make, and there isn't an option to make less. So, I'm returning the Aroma rice cooker and going back to the Black and Decker.

Summary: DONT ORDER FROM EKLECTIC SHOP 2010-05-24
Comment: I've never had a bad experience from amazon.com until now. My rice cooker arrived 4 weeks after the rest of my order and the box was totally crushed and badly damaged. I contacted the seller and was told that I couldn't return it after 30 days of ordering. It took 6 weeks to receive it. I'm bothered that they didn't even try to make it right. Don't order from EKLECTIC SHOP.

Summary: Not a great experience! 2010-04-30
Comment: This is my first rice cooker so I tried several attempts to get good rice out of it. I did maybe twice. I experimented a few times adding more water but most of the time I got dry, crusty rice on the bottom. I figured out that I had to stop it before it was done otherwise it would burn. That's when I followed directions exactly. I thought it was me because I have issues making rice in a regular pot too. But I really think this rice cooker cooks too hot. So we are taking it back. I also got it at Costco.

Summary: Efficient and easy 2010-04-23
Comment: I love the easy settings this cooker has. The brown rice setting takes the hassle out of temperamental brown and wild rices. Be advised that the "keep warm" feature will end up browning your rice if left on for too long. A great product at a fantastic price.
